MY STORY
From the family business to building AI.
In 2004, my family bought back our business — PRS Holdings, a workers comp claims operation. I came in to run the day-to-day. For 17 years I lived inside operational chaos: 4,300+ claims, 20+ Fortune 500 insurance clients, $102 million collected on their behalf.
Running a family business teaches you something a corporate job can’t: every late night, every botched process, every dollar lost — it’s YOUR money. Your family’s reputation. Your team’s livelihoods. I wore every hat. Operations, sales, hiring, fires, payroll, the late-night phone calls.
What I kept seeing was the same pattern: smart, hard-working teams burning hours on tasks that machines should be doing. Fortune 500s had the budgets to fix it. Family-owned businesses like ours? We white-knuckled it. We hired more people. We worked weekends.
When AI finally got powerful enough to actually run the boring stuff — not just sound smart, but DO the work — I knew this was what SMBs had been waiting for. The same advantage Fortune 500s have, but built for businesses doing $1M to $50M in revenue. The kind of business mine was.
So I built BrentonAI. Today I help business owners install AI that actually understands their work — not generic templates, not hype, just systems that pay for themselves. Custom RAG, agentic automations, lead generation, ongoing strategy. The tools I wish someone had built for us.
